Everyone has demons inside of him. These demons may not look like a scary monster we see on movies but these are the ones that strongly scare and stop us from living the life we are meant to live.
When I was just starting to write, there were three scenarios that I frequently find myself into.
I write with my demons - doubts, fears and self-criticism - finish a work but my pieces are full of negative energies and inauthentic.
I write with my demons and not finish a work.
I let my demons eat me and not write at all.
Over the course of my attempt in pursuing a creative life through writing, I realized that the first thing I need to do is face my demons that are holding me back to create something worthwhile to the soul of the readers. I did countless of self-reflections so I could hear my inner voice - what my soul is trying to communicate to me. I listened to this voice and little by little, I saw how my demons are attacking me and I knew within me that I have the power to face and overcome them.
I am sharing this manifesto to you, creative people… dreamers… and those who are searching for light that one day, you will turn your demons into inspiration to keep going with what you desire to accomplish. Each time I read the Manifesto of a Creative Person, I do my best to embrace every point. It helps me to keep my eyes open to the possibilities of what I can do; to stay positive and connected to the purpose of my life. I hope this will help you too in ways that your soul needs.
(Note: I created a free downloadable one-page printable of Manifesto of a Creative Person so you can print and display it anywhere you want that will remind you of who you are and why you are pursuing your creative calling. Click the one page manifesto below to download it for free.)
