Learning List has reviewed** Cengage Learning’s Calculus (Larson), 11 ^{th} Edition, AP Edition. **This is a comprehensive course for Advanced Placement (AP) calculus. Resources are available in print format and include some online resources. Instruction is designed specifically for AP courses and provides guidance in preparing for and taking AP exams. The text covers content for AP Calculus AB and BC courses.

*Calculus *opens with preface that discusses the AP Calculus exam and test preparation strategies. Core content is presented in 16 chapters that present content in a linear and logical manner. The first half of the course begins with a “Chapter P: Preparation for Calculus” that reviews key concepts needed for the study of calculus (e.g., linear models, rates of change, inverse functions), and then covers limits, differentiation, integration, differential equations, integration techniques, and logarithmic, exponential, and transcendental functions. The second half of the course addresses infinite series; conics, parametric equations, and polar coordinates; vectors and the geometry of space; vector-valued functions; functions of several variables; multiple integration; and vector analysis. Chapter 16 is available online and presents “Additional Topics in Differential Equations,” such as first-order equations and series solutions of differential equations.

Margin notes throughout the text support students’ preparation for AP exams and end-of-chapter exercises include questions formatted to reflect the AP exam.
